Week 9 : Forced Connection

What is Forced Connection? It is a way  of describing the act of combining 2 or more unrelated things to express a new message. It can also be described as cross fertilization. Which is mean, the original ideas are developed from the union of concepts or ideas previously regarded as unrelated.Forced Connection commonly used at the advertisement to make people be attracted.

When I am on class, we have to choose one object that already written ( pencil, clock, computer mouse, cup, plug, candle) and we have to describe it with all of the objective such as passionate, sad, brave, creative, greedy, and hard working. This what I am doing on today’s class.

What's mine,
greedy cup : the cup has many handle so I call it greedy mug
Hardworking cup : the tip of the cup has the very tiny diameter, so when we want to put the water, it will need a lot more time, but that cup can load  a lot of water, because it have big container.
Brave Cup : why I call it brave, because even the cup is broken, the cup still brave to contain water.
The Passionate Cup : I call it passionate cup  because it have a teleport black hole when we drink from that cup, so the distance relationship couple can still kissing only with the cup that have a monitor too.
Sad Cup : the cup is like melting, so when we fill it with the water, it will spilled, so that's why I call it a Sad Cup
Unique Cup : Its a cap that the handle can contain the water, and the cup become the handle, thats why It's a Unique Cup.

So many creative ideas that came out from everybody at my class. There are creative candle, which is there was a bulb that the inside of it is a candle, the greedy pencil that there are so many tip of pencil at once pencil. Its such an interesting way to make our mind open and think more creative. We have to think hard to make an unexpected product on this case.

These are some example of forced connection that have been realized

Lateral Thinking : Chicken Problem Solving

When I am on Creative Thinking class, my lecture, Ms. Zeltan gave us a problem case that we should think the solution. Well, actually the problem maybe yes or may be not exist in our daily life. The problem is, “Chicken Problem Solving”. The problem is about, just imagine we have a garden, but our neighbors’ chicken’s yarn is broken. So the chicken break into our garden and destroy our plan that we take care of. But when we tell our neighbors that their chicken destroy our plant, they ignore it. So what we have to do? In this case, we already make a mind map for solving this problem.

In this mind map, me and my friend, Jennifer, make some way to solve the problem, with the logical way and with the fantasy way to solve it. Someway possible to do, but some another way is impossible to do. But that impossible thing to solve, make the mind map so interesting and make it not boring. So the conclusion is, the impossible thing that we already think, that will make the ordinary thing become so much more interesting than the possible.

Week 6 : Lateral Thinking

Creative thinking, why it is called creative thinking ?

Because we are forced to think creative to get the out of the box result.

When we get the out of the box ideas, we will get the better result from the mainstream one. Because when you were given 2 items, the mainstream and the uniqe, which one you prefer? I think, we prefer to choose the unique one, the more attractive items that eye catching.

The last lesson that I have got from creative thinking lesson is, that we have to think creative, logically, and continously. We was given several question that will squeeze our brain and mind. The questions that has been given does not have an a correct or wrong answer. It is depend from what we will answer. So it will be a correct answer as long we think it with creativity! Because a lot of answer have the different reason, and because of that, even the answer is silly enough, it can be the right answer! So we have to think creative, don't be affraid to spill what on our mind. Because something that we already think that it is a silly think, that can be the very inspirative thing that the public will receive it, and say welcome for it.
