Week 5 : Breaking Rules (again)

 Breaking rules, again. Why ? Because its so interesting to do, in our school life, even now in campus life! Like I said before, breaking rules make usual things became unusual, so conclusion is, with making the things withbresking the rules will make it become much more interesting than before. It can be the media, or using the unusual method. 

For example, there is an artist that named Kittiwat Unarrom. He is a thailand artist that already breaking the rules. He do the most unusual thing.

Dont freak out, this is not a real human head. This is a immitate human head by Kittiwat Unarrom. He is using bread and make that bread become a realistic human head. For the people who dont know it, the must be very panic when saw it. 

The second artist that break the rules is Julian Beever, he is using the chalk and he draw it inthe street with his amazing porpotion of the trick eyes. 

The last artist that breaking the rules is Maurizio Savini. He is using a gum to sculpping.

I think that was a crazy idea of making sculpture.

The conclusion of all the picture above that i am sure it willl amazed you is. Dontbe affraid to break the rules. Because with breaking the rules, you can explore the the thing that you never done before. With breaking the rules, the ordinary thing will become unordinary thing, and that thing will make you be memorize of what you have create. So dont be affraid to breaking the rules!

Week 4 : MindMap

A mind map is a diagram used to visually organise information. A mind map is often created around a single concept, drawn as an image in the center of a blank landscape page, to which associated representations of ideas such as images, words and parts of words are added. Major ideas are connected directly to the central concept, and other ideas branch out from those.

As you see in the picture above, colorful isnt? In my opinion, when it's full with color, it will more attract ourself to see what's going on that passage. And I am sure, it will be more interesting when it is not a bunch of words. Even me, I will feel very bored and sleepy when I am going to read bunch of words. With do the mind mapping, it will be more simple, and easier to understand and remember than many pages of sentences.

Making mindmap is not hard as we think, it is so simple. You just have to think creative and simple.

This is the mindmap that I already finished with my group. It is about "Red". Why we chose red? Because that is the option left. But actually, "red" is so interesting, because when we do the mindmap, i realize that it can mean a lot of thing, such as custom, shades, things,symbol, situations, and feeling or emotion.

Week 3 : Breaking rules

When we are on elementary school, junior or in senior high school, I am sure that we ever broke the rules. And I am sure that for breaking the rules make our school life become alive and not mainstream. Until now, For me, because of that breaking rules moments, I miss my high school memories so much.

In the design industries, many designer follow the rules. The result of following the rules also nice, I am sure. But Mot only for breaking rules elementary, junior, or high school, I think that something that break the rules, can make the thing also more alive and not become mainstream. When you see an unusual thing, I am sure that the unsual one more have your attention to see it. More than the one that following the rules. The thing that breaking the rules is make our eyes catch easily what they see. The thing that unsual is not common in everyday. It need a lot of creativity to make it. One of the designer that break the rules is Giuseppe Colarusso. He is an Italian designer that break the rule while designing and make the real objects of his own design. I think he was a great artist that brave to be different. 

The first example of his design is " Juice on Tap ", i think that thing is very unsuall to meet. Because it is about an orange that have a sinker inside it, and when we turn the handle, the orange will automatically be squeezed and the water come out easily. 

The second is "Batty Bat" is a ping pong paddle with the gap in the middle of it. Because of the gap in the middle of it, when the game on, it will be more interesting than before, but it will be much more difficult with the gap on it. 

The next is "Beer We Go", it is a two mug of beer that the handle of it become one. So it attach one each other. I think it will be much more interesting when the game on in the bar.

The following one called "the crazy cutlery", imagine how to eat food while the handle is made by rope. It will always wither when you want to eat something. That going to be an awesome bet you can do, if you can succes to complete your dinner with using that cutlery. 

The next one is some medicine that the packaging form is coffin and cross. That was absolutely breaking the rule, we want to be recover from our suffer but the medicine like praying that we will going to die soon.

The next picture is keyboard that the on top of it, there were a spikes on it. 

The seventh example design from Giuseppe Colarusso is "a square meal". It is like a roller for flatten the dough or anything. But his design is very anti mainstream, he make a roller that have a square angle on it.

The next example called "Goofy Glasses", maybe it is a sunglasses that made for cyclops. 

The last called "coffee in a can? " , i think this object was very unique, because it like a coffee mug but it have a can cover like cocacola or sprite bottle can. 

This picture and youtube link below is outside the Giuseppe's design, but I found it very interesting and eyecatching even it is a little bit disgusting. This picture was totaly breaking the rules !!!

I think breaking the rules is nice sometime, and make people want to know more about it. But some times, breaking rules are not good, because it will make that object useless. 

Week 2 : Brainstorming

Brainstorming is a group or individual creativity technique by which efforts are made to find a conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its member.

I think, brainstorming can be useful for the designer. When you do the brainstorming, the ideas that pop out from our mind can be organize. And when the ideas come out, if we write it down, we can't forget it, because it's already written. 

With brainstorming, it tend to make people become more critical in thinking, be more creative than not doing the brainstorming, or mind mapping. 

When you see that picture, it's an ordinary crayon. But with do the brainstorming, yes, the function of the crayon, it's not only for coloring and drawing. But the crayon can be craved into animal shapes. I think it's very creative because of the brainstorming. 

This above picture is a very unique things too. Because the main function of this is for shitting. But the designer make it become beautiful. With the aquarium and the fish inside it. Maybe it's impossible to make it the fish still alive when we flush the toilet, but it still a great ideas. 

Me and my team, already make the mind mapping and do the brainstorm method. We took a topic "chopstick". So many ways how to use chopstick in the daily life or not possible in the daily life. But it still some unique ideas that we can find from do the brainstorming. It can be a tool for, picking things, and make things. 

After we pick up the topic, that is "chopstick". Then we wrote it down and start to figure what we can do with the chopstick. After that we make and think several ways to do with the chopstick. At first it so easy to figure what we can do with it. But when it reach into 50 ways, it start to stuck. But I'm sure with this brainstorming mind mapping, our creativity will increase, because it force our ideas to pop out continously.
